For International Women’s Day in 2021, Nottingham-based community and exhibition space ‘The Carousel’ asked twenty illustrators around the UK to create work celebrating a woman who inspires them. The works were then risograph printed in the studio and displayed for the month of March.

For my contribution to the project I chose AOC, an American politician from a working class background who fights tirelessly for what she believes in. AOC in particular stands out to me as a woman worth celebrating as she refuses to be silenced works relentlessly to improve the lives of those who she represents.
