QUEER AND NOW
‘Small Town Boys is an award winning show exploring the escapism of queer nightlife during the 80s & early 90s AIDS crisis through dance and spoken word.’
Illustrations created with the support of Shaper/Caper’s ‘Queer and Now’ bursary project in coalition with their award-winning play ‘Small Town Boys’.
These illustrations reflect the community found in queer spaces during the rise of the AIDs crisis in the 80’s and 90’s, whilst juxtaposing the underlying uncertaintly that accompanied the era. These illustrations are currently on tour across Scotland, running parallel to Shaper/Caper’s current run of Small Town Boys’.
