AJ Duncan is a multidisciplinary artist and creative facilitator whose practice centres around creating work that reflects the everyday lives of women and queer folk; getting ready, at the bar, having a cuppa or simply laying on the couch. Representation is at the core of her practice, particularly with regards to gender, disability, queerness and mental health. She strives to make art for people who are so often left out of the visual arts feel seen by and resonate with.

She has worked on illustration projects with clients such as Engender, Bloomsbury Publishing, Closet Brewing, Somewhere: For Us Magazine, F-Bomb Theatre and Shaper Caper. Outwith her illustration work, AJ co-directs feminist creative collective Agora Studios, runs the bi-annual big gay market and facilitates weekly queer life drawing class.

You can shop her work on this site, in person at upcoming markets or here on her Etsy.
